Pretty long post, but I read most (if not all) of it. It's cool that you're putting some effort into a post and plugging other stuff that you think is worthwhile to see.
As for your character at the bottom, I rather like it. It's pretty simple, but simple can be good, and it's nice to have a character to call your own to use however you see fit. I've been trying to somewhat develop a character of my own for a while, and have yet to get anywhere, so kudos to you :P
As for coding, I can't code crap, so I can't help ya there, but hopefully you find someone.
