Rudy's News

Posted by Rudy - May 11th, 2008

Hello losers :)

It's me again with another stupid update. Well to start things off, I'd like to say shut the fuck up about the Newgrounds Tank Awards. You guys are obviously stupid for ranting about nothing. Yeah, it'd be cool to have the "people's" vote instead of just a ton of judges but whatever, it's not the way it is. No more time to cheat the ballot.

Moving on ... Anyways, I recently released a new introduction to a little cute series called the "Life of a Smiley." The pilot episode was suppose to be released today but it didn't end up happening, the same exact episode will be released sometime this week though. It's basic idea is about Mother's Day. :) The whole idea of the series in general, is to express the life of the Newgrounds Smileys, which is a fun little idea that came about.

Life of a Smiley: Intro

In other news, I released another Two-Hour Time Trial to celebrate the holiday of Mother's Day over here in the United States. I apologize if you guys are offended by the harsh music it features, NSFW or more like NSFM. (not safe for mom :()

Two-Hour Time Trial V

Well thats about it so far. Maybe check out my site and have a good time over there with my random updates.

Alright, toodles and have a very happy mothers day. :)

Happy Mothers Day ! New Series !

Hello Newgrounders,

Sorry for the delay in updates but I have tons of updates for you nice little people. :) From Pico Day to all the way to a new website + new content, I'm here to fill in all the cracks of this crazy world involving my Flash scene.

-------------
Pico Day 2008

With Pico Day suddenly coming to an end, many heads were turned with the various submissions released on the given date of April 30th, 2008. Submissions like House of 1000 Cats or N.G. Showdown, personally a few of my personal favorites were very impressively created in all due respect to Newgrounds.

Besides, the top-notch animations that day, I on the otherhand released two animations.:

-------------
List of Pico Day 2008 Submissions:

1) Nene's Nude Photos - An animation which wasn't quite amazing to begin with, started off with Pico tell Darnell about some photos of Nen he discovered in her room. Rushing and roughly completed, I hope you enjoy this.

2) Tom's Birthday Song - Based off of Tom Fulp's Luis Day Submission, this little animation was created in honor of Tom Fulp's Birthday. In case you didn't know, Pico Day was also Tom's birthday. So as a dear and close friend, I released this animation to honor him. Actually, I don't even fucking know Tom, but oh well. The creator of Newgrounds is a friend of mine. NO HOMO.
-------------

New Collabs:

I thought with a nice epic Newspost, I'll update everyone on what exactly was going on in the flash scene with me. Actually, I've participated in a few collabs this month. If you're interested, there is a list below about the collabs in which I took part in.

-------------
List of Collab Submissions:

1) Good Night Collab - A silly collab arranged by Fion, I took part in this collab in which was created in a 96 FPS annoying set FPS speed. >:(

2) When You Were Young Collab - A song created by the Killers, I took part in this little collab which flew right under the radar during the day. Not much impressed with the outcome, but I left my share in the collab, so I must give recognition.
-------------

Other Recent Submissions:

A few other submissions, I released will be listed below.

-------------
List of Other Recent Submissions:

1) Sorry Tom? - An animation in which was dedicated to the "I'm Sorry Flashes" submitted by the Clock Crew. Sources told me that on the Clock Crew's last spam day, They submitted various animations starring these weird camels. Due to this, Tom called of Wade to delete them, and than Wade deleted them right after. This was the outcome, in which I felt the need to portray.

2) Two-Hour Time Trial IV - They're backkkkkkkkkkk.
-------------

Tsunami-Productions.net LAUNCHED!

Finally, after many many months of using a Freewebs account, I actually took it upon myself to release a new website for my animations and portfolio. The website was created within a Saturday day in which I was bored so I purchased the domain and released this nice little site which features my recent work as well as OTHER people's work that I enjoyed.

If you have any animations that you would like to throw upon me, than just email me at my new email
here. It is my site account only, so any work you'd like to see on Front Page, tell me and I'll see what I can do. The content will update every week with new Other People's Work. If I enjoy the content, I may put it up. :)

So please take time out of your day, and check out my new site. Thank you.

Animation Challenge Weeks 4-6 Submission

I'm aware many of the artists and animators taking part in the Animation Challenge Weeks were very curious on which Weeks 4-6 were going to be released to the portal, and actually, I finally got around to completing the animation as I put the contest on a hault to complete this to begin with.

After many hours of restarting Flash, renaming thousands of symbols and movieclips, I completed this baby with ease as it features a tutorial section to help you complete the tasks in which we did during the week.

I present to you: The Animation Challenge Weeks 4-6!
-------------

Other Gems

In the near future, since I've finally completed the Animation Challenge Week animation, I plan on taking a break from animating for a while. I need to cool off for a bit, but I will still release content onto my site. By the way, I may add a nice little art section on it, as well.

Besides all the chaos, I do have plans for upcoming Flash projects.

First, I'll probably start on this little animated short I have in mind. It'll feature some old Dad and his daughter, and they will come across something very interesting. I'm hoping to maybe make a little "mini-series" with the pedo-dad and prep-daughter. We'll see though. They will probably be about 30 seconds long though. Not too epic.

Second, I want to start a collab to start off the new year. I haven't really ran a nice 08' collab yet, but one thing I'm planning to do, is group up a few famous NG artists on this one, and see where it'll take me. It won't be released to the public, until it's finished. ;)

That's about it so far, I have a few ideas in mind, Renovating my site, adding additions and updating, along with screwing around with codes or whatever. I have alot to do... Heck, anyone planning for their Madness and Clock Day submissions yet? Not me. :3 I should think of at least something though... Eh, It's like 5 months away, IT CAN WAIT.
-------------

In conclusion to all of this, I hope you enjoyed this major update on my recent work and upcoming work. I still have yet to finish that "Something" animation but whatever, we'll see what happens. Hopefully, I can bring alot of good solo projects this year.

Thanks for checking out my newspost. I hope you enjoyed.

Later.

Hââ-pô Newgrounders!,

Welcome to the traditional, Weekly Animation Challenge! It's that time of the week again, and now we're going to make things a bit more interesting.

To start things off, If you aren't familiar with the whole "Animation Challenge" Deal. Here is a simple explanation of the whole jazz.

These "Weekly Animation Challenges" are a challenge given to all the artists on Newgrounds for whomever to enter. You are a given a specific theme to animate during the whole week. At the given deadline, you are qualified to hand in the .fla file of the animation to be compiled in a finished .swf to be submitted to Newgrounds. Oh, but no this isn't just for fun - The best animator and piece will be rewarded with a nice little cash prize. ;)

The amount of money that'll be given is $4.00 per Two Submissions. Meaning Each submission is worth $2.00.

But let's get down to business about our challenge of this week.

The challenge this week is to create an animation portraying a "slam dunk.".

Slam Dunks, you know the whole deal of slamming a basketball into a hoop with one leap. Mike Jordan has got it down, so now you have to as well ! This week's animation challenge was actually inspired by "Totty Arts Weeklies," which are pretty interesting and very impressive.

The challenge this week is to create an animation using the technique or style persay, of personification..

Definition of Personification

-The metaphorical representation of an animal or inanimate object as having human attributes--attributes of form, character, feelings, behavior, and so on. As the name implies, a thing or idea is treated as a person.

-Is a figure of speech whereby an inanimate or non-living object is given human characteristics.

It's a fun challenge. You can have a chair walking away, a moving ball, a car living an everyday life. It's just a broad topic that you can use your imagination on. Be creative guys. :)

Hola Newgrounders!,

Today is the day for ANOTHER weekly challenge. If you haven't entered one of these before or don't have any knowledge of what these babies are than let me go over a few things.

First of all, These "Weekly Animation Challenges" are a challenge given to all the artists on Newgrounds for whomever to enter. You are a given a specific theme to animate during the whole week. But let's get down to business about our challenge of this week.

The challenge this week is to animate some morphing.
Morphing is basically a fun little technique to transform an object into another object.

For example; A Dog into a Camera, Superman into a toaster, or maybe a angry TV into a bunny. Anything is acceptable, just use your imagination and be CREATIVE! :D

Don't know what morphing is? Check out this Example!

Let's make some speculations first though.

A lyrical term from the band Jet's hit song "Look what you've done." Which has lyrics that have been calling out towards me. "Oh, look what you've done, you've made a fool of everyone." It sort of feels as if I am making a fool of many of my friends and maybe screwing up a few friendships and things going on in my life. I don't quite know what to do..but I guess it's not really my part to become all emo on this site to begin with so I apologize.

It seems as if I don't quite really feel very Newgrounds friendly. The last time I left a post in the BBS would have to be almost a week ago prior to the event that took place over the weekend.

As I was basically locked from my computer for about a couple days, I decided to dust off and old TV and kick in my old SNES for a go. Actually, I haven't played the Super Nintendo for probably a few years now. I've been getting back into recent classic games by Nintendo lately. Especially, some nice hits on the N64 like for example; Super Smash Brothers,Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Yoshi's Story.

Currently, I am actually playing Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest. I never knew how fun actually that game was until replaying it. Another favorite would have to be Zelda: A Link to the Past. I've always been a video game geek, but these are just a few of my favorites. What are yours?

To make this a bit, Newgrounds related. I'll keep you guys informed on my recent work in animating. I haven't been animating much due to the fact of the whole stupid situations going on, but I think maybe sometime in the future, I'll go full-out on a Pico Day animation. I need to think of a fresh new idea though. I'm brainstorming though.

Besides Pico ideas circulating through my head, I actually brushed off an old gem I worked on back in the Summer time called "Something." The link clicks to the blogpost I've created recently in the past. This is an animation which was basically a music video, was redone and started to look good. I have alot to do with it, but its getting there.

Too much is going on in this life of mine, and hopefully I'll be able to get back on track in April. Well, until than -- I'll see you kids around.

Take my photo off the wall, if it just wont sing for you...

Usually, I like to have amazing news posts for the front page but I don't quite got much to say this time. Instead of just babbling about cool games or movies on the site, maybe I should just give some recognition to some current projects and collabs that are going on right now.

--------------------------------
Current Projects
--------------------------------
To start things off, let's discuss some current projects I got under my belt. Since I've been very inactive with animation, game-making, and anything basically involving flash, I think I should get back into the groove somehow.

1) Pass My Flash ll - Luis is holding another "Pass My Flash" collab, where he basically starts off with a little animation and lends the .fla over to you, and you continue the story as basically the whole animation is passed artist to artist. I'm hoping to create something good for it, and actually take part in it, since it really looks nice and interesting. I missed the first one, so let's see how this turns out.

2) Currently in the works, I have a top secret game, that may be released soon. It's either an Adventure/RPG or just a point and click game. Not much details will be released until a further date -- but look out for it.

3) The Beer Collab ll -- Another animation I gotta finish. It's basically a collab part to a few screaming guys singing to a song. I gotta get it done, Yoink has been wondering what's been up -- and I haven't gotten around too it. Just one day I have to push everything aside and just finish it. I will, ...just when? That's the question.

4) Animated Poem. Last year, I animated a poem called "Alone". It was a short poem which was kinda sad, but very rushed. Decent score, but I wanted to take it up a notch and create something better and more meaningful. The voicework is done, and some storyboard art, but that's it. Gotta pull that together soon as well.
--------------------------------------
----------
Despite everything, I really wanted to just include everyone in on what was going on. I haven't been up too much besides seeing the surge of hacking the co-authoring system which was kinda cool, but nothing much.

By the way, My birthday is today. (January 7th.) I finally turned 16, filled out a job application, and I'm getting a permit soon. Any birthday presents anyone? :)

Ah, happy new years. And tis the season. Have a good year, and hopefully I'll release something soon. Just filling ya in. Oh and by the way,
don't click here.
okay, click it -- it's funny :)

Despite my lack of time spent on Newgrounds recently, I have actually been able to group up a whole list of worthy animations and games for the public to watch/play. There are quite a few that deserve to be mentioned that don't get much publicity as the content on Front Page. So here's my list of favorites for this week.

Animations.
The content for animations go from variety to quantity to all the way to talent. Animation techniques with unique work really catches my eye when I look for a good animation or a good toon. If you are recycling sprites, or maybe old animation movie clips, than it seems repetitive. I don't have room to talk, but besides the fact, here are the animations I think deserve to be mentioned.

1.) NightGun [Ep.1]
A rather interesting piece which leaves you in the beginning confused and wondering why in the world are they randomly battling a freaking monster? The animation shown is created fairly but some parts lack the appropriate use of colors and techniques to be perfectly honest. Despite the animation work, I believe the voice acting could use some as well. The way they express the script and words isn't really fitting the whole movie in general. To make a good anime feeling moving you really have to have good voice work, besides those other anime shows with the moving circles and opening mouths with crazy scripts -- Besides the fact of the whole animation, it needs work but it's alright for what it's worth. Nothing is perfect, and everything will need improvements to get the closest to perfection.

2.) The Lonely Life
Usually impressed by the animations created by Studio-NightBird's work, I wasn't quite feeling it in this animation. Even though it was a nice touching piece with a nice story which saddened me a bit, I believe it could of been better if more time was put into the animation itself. He states that it was created within one day so I won't hold much against him and I'll cut him some slack, but in the end maybe cut out the choppy and laggy looking FBF work, and maybe brush up on the character designs. I'm aware of his capability on how he likes to create the Anime-Japanese character styles but sometimes you have to branch off and maybe improve it a bit more as well. The side views look very sloppy which I don't quite like. Nothing less, the animation is nice along with the work -- You should check it out. I think it should of atleast gotten Daily 5th. At the least.

3.) TidBits
A bit surprised by the work, Wonchop just released.. This was rather interesting to be perfectly honest. Giving me a laugh here and there from the random tidbits really put a spot onto the animation in the end. It's not much and seems like a lacking kind of animation that just has random shit like those Sprite Bloopers that people keep shitting out, This was actually good. I'd really like to see more animations that are random and goes scene to scene rather than Sprite Animation ones.

------------

Games.
After looking through the portal for some good animations, It's not my chance to check out a few games. I'm usually not into online-gaming much, simply because It bores me, but Let's see what I can find on the Flash Portal.

1.) Rhythm Fireworks 2
A very colorful game with a unique DDR style feel to it, brings a sound based Rhythm Firework theme as you bash the arrow keys and A-S-D keys to achieve your acquired score. It has a pretty interesting feel to it, as well as it's very fun.

------------

Since I'm lazy and don't feel like playing anymore games -- I'm just leaving it at that. I think you guys get the point and whatever. There are plenty of games in the game section so enjoy them. I think games online loose creativity after a while due to the high amount of internet games. I'm just waiting for an interactive game like "Newgrounds Rumble" or maybe an online version of "Castle Crashers" to hit the portal and just blow us away. But until than I'll be sitting here scratching my head and just chilling waiting for a moment to play something really good.

Eh, enough about these news updates. :)

Recently, I've been making various animations and getting back into the Flash Scene. It's pretty fun though by doing little projects and working on major ones on the side. I think I'll sum up on my week, and what I have to do though first.

To start things off, Almost 2 weeks ago, I successfully created a Time Trial in which claimed a Daily 3rd award, which was pretty interesting. So if you're interested in viewing that check it out!Two-Hour Time Trial.

In response to that Time Trial, I may create one really soon with a new theme. I wanted to create it last weekend but I was booked with plans, and I also was banned for the day -- so I couldn't notify anyone about the time trial. I may hold one sometime tomorrow though instead, or maybe sometime next week. This time trial will be arranged differently though. So look out for the thread. I'll give a days notice before I start, so people can look out.

Another thing, I've been working on is Luis's Pass My Flash Collab. I created a part that didn't quite make the cut since Atomic-Noodle created a astonishing part just in time, at the very last minute as well -- and claimed the spot. I really enjoyed his part though.

The basic idea of the collab is Luis started with a Flash Animation, and than he transfers the .fla to you, as you continue where the story left off. Usually it goes into a whole different direction, and it'd end up with an interesting outcome, which should be fun. I'll be trying to snag a spot soon though.

Speaking of Luis, he arranged the "Sketchbook Tour 07' recently, and it's almost done! I've dedicated a piece in it, just like last year, as well as I have a nice t-shirt from the whole thing. It was a fun and interesting project, so look out for it! Kinda confused? Check out last year's Sketchbook Tour 06.

In other news, I've seen the new recently released movie, "Across the Universe". It's an interesting, amazing film that was made with a dedicated soundtrack by The Beatles. Instead of them singing, its the cast of the Movie singing their parts and songs. It's very interesting, and probably nabbed my favorite movie of all time. Check out the trailer

In dedication to that movie, the song "Something," I'll probably most likely animate too. I started about 1% of the animation, because I was so moved by the song. It's pretty awesome though. If you're interested in it, than stick around, and I'll keep everyone updated.

Minus all the chaos and overloads of work, here's and screenshot of my upcoming project; "Something."
: I didn't create much, remember.
Enjoy.

Rather Busy Lately (Guess who's back on track?)
